Deidre Havrelock

Deidre Havrelock is a First Nations woman from Saddle Lake Cree Nation (Cree on her mother's side) and Irish on her father's side. She lives on the beautiful prairies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Treaty 6 land—the traditional territory of the Cree, Dakota, Nakota, Saulteaux, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

Deidre is a storyteller who likes her coffee hot, her books dog-eared and scribbled in, and her spirituality authentic, liveable, and life-changing. A believer in and follower of Creator Light (Jesus) and Creator Spirit (the Holy Spirit), she describes her daily ministry as learning to walk in love—acknowledging that she fails often (that's the authentic part) while trusting she is a divine work in progress (that's the life-changing part). For her, true spirituality centers on this law: "Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law."

Deidre lives with her husband, DJ, their three daughters, an amazing grandson, and a cat named Damian McGinty (courtesy of her daughters' love for The Glee Project). She writes from the heart of her community, faith, and family.
