Kim Rogers

Kim Rogers is an enrolled member of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes and a writer dedicated to sharing contemporary Native stories, unsung heroes, and untold history. Born in Oklahoma, she grew up exploring the woods, catching frogs and horned lizards, and eating blackberries straight from the vine—often before making it home. She earned a B.A. in journalism and public relations from the University of Central Oklahoma and has worked in public relations and as a freelance writer.

Raised in a military family with deep service roots—including her Wichita great-grandfather (Navy, WWII), her maternal grandfather (Air Force, WWII), and her father (Marine Corps, Vietnam)—Kim married an Air Force officer and has lived in Germany and South Korea, traveling the world and even flying on an AWACS jet. She writes because as a child, she never saw Native kids like herself in books—only stereotypes and past-tense narratives. Today, she creates stories that reflect the truth: We are still here.
